PRISON MINISTRY

With more than a decade of experience in the NC prison system, our prison ministry staff can help your church begin your own prison ministry with many opportunities to reach and disciple incarcerated men and women while supporting their families. We currently have more than 36 church volunteers leading or co-leading Bible studies in over 20 North Carolina prisons. We’ll guide you through the essentials of prison ministry, from getting started and connecting with local prisons to partnering with existing ministries. Learn how to launch a prison ministry in your church and make a meaningful impact, whether inside or outside the prison system, by sharing the love of Jesus.

Helping Your Church Serve Inside and Outside of the Prisons

SERVE INSIDE

We will “prison match” your church to a local prison whose needs match your volunteers.

  • We will train your volunteers in prison culture,
  • How to navigate ministry in a prison,
  • How to build relationships with the prison administration,
  • Multiple proven ways to disciple the residents,
  • Sponsor a Chaplains & Program Staff Appreciation Lunch for your local prison
  • Contribute to the costs of providing a Christmas/holiday meal for your local prison’s residents. (You may be able to help prepare and serve this meal)
  • Provide Christmas goodie bags for your local prison’s residents,
  • Provide a Christmas worship experience for your local prison and
  • Connections to other ministries already in the prison

SERVE OUTSIDE

We will provide you with a variety of outside the prison volunteer options for those who have a heart to get involved but aren’t ready to go inside the prison.

  • Angel Tree ministry,
  • Prisoner letter writing,
  • Hygiene kit creation,
  • Cookie baking events,
  • Family and Children events,
  • Christian book / Bible drives and
  • Prepare and provide Release Kits for minimum security prison residents to aid them when they are released
  • Conduct a clothing drive for your nearest minimum-security prison. (These men and women need clothing for their jobs outside of prison and for their offsite outings with their sponsors).
  • Contact your Local Reentry Council to find out their needs and create a drive to meet that need.
  • An annual sermon in your church focused on prison ministry
We will meet as often as necessary, with your prison ministry director for encouragement, brainstorming, support, prayer and coaching. We serve together.
